Day 40: NEW BEGINNINGS

Day 40, January 23rd, Monday 2012


Today, I am going to stock up on stock bones, joints, etc etc to make a WHOLE HEAP of meat broth.
I am going to buy some more vegies to make broth soups. Carrots, butternut squash, zucchini and so on.
I need to stock up on some fresh herbs and also some spices to use in the future.
Today I am 're-starting' the SCD - but doing it the GAPS way.
The past couple of days have been very uncomfortable for me - a LOT of gas, bubbling and gurgling. All because I ate split peas and lima beans. I ate large quantities I must admit, so they're gonna be off the list for a while unfortunately.

This morning I'm waking to a fresh ginger tea, and will follow that with my probiotic capsule. I usually take them at night but I'm going to start taking them in the morning after my drinks of water etc.

FOOD

8am

  • cooked butternut squash - about 3/4 cup
  • 5 pieces/slices poached pear
  • 1 banana
  • SUPP: CD, PF, Zinc, B6

(about an hr later) 9am
  • Poached parrot white fish
  • 4 shallots
  • ~6 mushrooms
  • Water liquid from poaching 
  • Coconut oil
  • Himalayan pink salt
  • few drops lemon juice
  • SUPP: Hydrozyme, VitaminE &Se

(about an hr later) 10am
  • whole avocado with salt, olive oil and lemon juice
  • some more cooked pumpkin

  • bowl of lamb stock soup with: onions, leeks, garlic clove, yellow baby squash - peeled, butternut squash, broccoli - peeled stalks, carrots

  • bowl lamb stock broth with broccoli and garlic



BM today was easy to pass, however green and TP revealed slight mucus tendencies! Stringy looking most definitely, and in 'clumps' ... not one big formed stool. Looked 'airy' like there was air trapped within, just a stringy looking stool.
Stomach is still feeling slightly unsettled, so today I am gonna eat safe as possible, need to buy the goodies for stock, whip that up and also I'm going to eat my piece of fish today and also maybe whip out the sea scallops I bought, however I don't want to waste them/use them up just because I feel I have to! Maybe I'll wait til tomorrow when my tummy is feeling a bit more settled to eat them :) I'm sure they'll last.
Have not had as much gas today as yesterday thank goodness! it's been very mild and hardly noticeable.
Bubbling in stomach has been not noticeable. Occasionally sometimes but nothing huge.
